LG Smart TVs run the webOS operating system, which supports IPTV through a handful of compatible player applications. The process is similar to Samsung setup but uses different apps.
Compatible LG TV models
LG TVs from 2016 onwards running webOS 3.0 or later are generally compatible. The LG Content Store may vary by region and TV model.
Installing an IPTV player app
Search the LG Content Store (accessible from the LG Home menu) for:
- IPTV Smarters — available on compatible webOS models
- SS IPTV — a popular alternative for LG TVs
If neither is available in the Content Store for your TV's region, the Firestick HDMI method (described below) is the most reliable alternative.
Setting up with SS IPTV
- Install SS IPTV from the LG Content Store
- Open the app and go to Settings
- Select Playlist and add a new playlist
- Enter your M3U URL provided by IPTV UK Hub in the URL field
- Save and exit — the app will download your channel list
Setting up with IPTV Smarters on LG
- Install IPTV Smarters from the Content Store
- Select Login with Xtream Codes API
- Enter your server URL, username and password from your IPTV UK Hub welcome email
- Tap Add User — channels and EPG will load automatically
Using a Firestick with an LG TV
Plug an Amazon Firestick into any HDMI port on your LG TV, switch to that HDMI input, and follow the Firestick setup guide. This is the most straightforward approach if app availability is limited.
Performance tips
A wired Ethernet connection to your LG TV (via the LAN port if available) will provide more stable streaming than Wi-Fi, particularly for 4K streams or during peak evening hours.
