IPTV on Apple TV: Setup Guide

Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD both support IPTV through compatible apps available on the Apple TV App Store. The process is straightforward once you have identified a compatible player.

Compatible Apple TV models

  • Apple TV 4K (1st, 2nd and 3rd generation)
  • Apple TV HD (formerly Apple TV 4th generation)

Earlier Apple TV models (2nd and 3rd generation) running older tvOS versions may have limited or no compatible app options.

Installing an IPTV player

Open the App Store on your Apple TV and search for:

  • IPTV Smarters Pro — available on tvOS, supports Xtream Codes login
  • GSE Smart IPTV — popular alternative with a solid tvOS interface
  • Infuse — primarily a media player but supports M3U playlists

Setting up IPTV Smarters on Apple TV

  1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro from the App Store
  2. Open the app and select Login with Xtream Codes API
  3. Enter your server URL, username and password from your IPTV UK Hub welcome email
  4. The app will connect and load your channel list and EPG

Setting up GSE Smart IPTV on Apple TV

  1. Install GSE Smart IPTV from the App Store
  2. Go to Remote Playlist URL in the app settings
  3. Enter your M3U URL as provided in your IPTV UK Hub welcome email
  4. Save and return to the main screen — your channels will load

Sharing credentials across Apple devices

Your IPTV UK Hub subscription credentials work across multiple devices. The same username and password that you use on Apple TV can also be used on an iPhone, Mac or other supported devices, subject to the connection limits of your subscription.

Performance notes

Apple TV 4K has sufficient processing power for 4K IPTV streams when connected via Ethernet (using Apple's USB-C to Ethernet adapter). Wi-Fi performance on the 5GHz band is also good. For HD streams, any connection type should suffice.
