The UEFA Champions League is broadcast in the UK by TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport), with some group stage matches available on free-to-air channels. Both are accessible through IPTV.
Which channels broadcast Champions League matches?
- TNT Sports 1, 2, 3, 4 — TNT Sports holds the primary UK rights to the Champions League. Group stage, knockout rounds, semi-finals and the final are all broadcast across these channels.
- Channel 4 — carries a selection of Champions League matches under the free-to-air deal, typically including the final and selected knockout fixtures in some seasons. Available in the UK entertainment channels section of your IPTV line-up.
Match nights and scheduling
Champions League group stage and knockout matches take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the September–December and February–May periods. Kick-off times are typically 17:45 (early kick-off) and 20:00 (main kick-off) UK time.
Finding Champions League matches in your player
Navigate to the Sports category in IPTV Smarters or TiviMate and look for TNT Sports 1 (the main Champions League channel). During match weeks, the EPG will show the specific fixtures for each channel. Adding TNT Sports 1–4 to your Favourites makes navigation faster on European nights.
Europa League and Conference League
TNT Sports also holds rights to the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League. Coverage follows the same pattern as Champions League, with matches on Thursday evenings during the group stage and knockout phases.
Stream stability on European nights
Major Champions League evenings — particularly knockout matches and the final — attract high traffic. A wired Ethernet connection and a tested stream before kick-off are the best preparation. See our buffering fix guide.
